Ventura Shooting Suspect Arrested….No One Hurt

Several Ventura City Police officers who were assigned to a concert detail outside the Ventura Theater heard gunshot firing coming from inside a nearby parking structure just before midnight on Sunday.
The Ventura Theater was hosting a concert by the rap group called, The Game.
The officers determined the shots were coming from the second level of a nearby parking structure and immediately responded.
Once on the second level, officers were met with crowds of concert-goers attempting to leave the area on foot and in vehicles.
The police identified a male and several females as being involved.
After speaking to numerous witnesses, Gilbert Hernandez, 27-years-old, from Santa Paula was identified as the alleged shooter.
During the investigation, it was determined Hernandez was involved in a physical altercation inside the parking structure with several other unknown men.
Witnesses said Hernandez retrieved a semi-automatic handgun from his parked vehicle.
As the unknown men were leaving, Hernandez fired the weapon in the direction of their car.
He was then seen putting the firearm back into his vehicle.
Officers searched Hernandez’s vehicle and recovered the firearm.
At this time, it is unknown if anyone was injured inside the vehicle that left the scene.
The only description of the vehicle is it was a black sedan.
Area hospitals were contacted and did not report any victims of a shooting.
